(pun intended!) Now it's Jennie's turn to be a mentor to these very different women and she calls on some of the characters we've met in previous books to help, including Jamie and his non-witch wife, Lauren the real estate agent, and of course, Aervyn the four year old witchling. Her mentor, Melvin, gave her a camera as a way of giving her a focus.

We discover that she became interested in photography during her own inauguration into Witchlight. Jennie was a minor character from the first book, and is a photographer. Jennie is the witch that is assigned to guide them.

Both women need help to break down those barriers and find out who they really are and what they can really do with their lives. Both women are defensive and their self confidence is low. She's very conservative, very orderly and rigid. She joins Witchlight thinking it might be a way of helping the community. Elsie is a psychologist herself but who finds she can't do her job properly anymore. She has been in and out of trouble and joining Witchlight is a condition of her parole. Lizard is Goth/punk, rebellious and a bit anti social. The book tells the stories of two witches, one a younger woman, Lizard, and one a woman in her 30s, Elsie, who are polar opposites. It's not directly about the characters and witch families we've already met in prior books but several of those characters to make appearances. This time, it's about an organization called Witchlight which helps witches find their way, perhaps out of legal trouble or perhaps just to find their way in life. I'll miss the stories and magic.Witches on Parole is another of Debora Geary's great books about the witch community. This one was a bit abrupt, hurried and there was an urgency to the closure - but 'happily ever after' wasn't necessarily guaranteed. Witch Central is a lovely community and I loved being part of it. There was magic in how much people loved and respected one another. more ut were generally well-written and thoughtful, simple and sweet. These weren't great literary masterpieces b.

Totally get why - certainly if my life imploded, I would need to (and have) make changes. Review 2: I was sad because this was the last one. Instead the ending is a good epilogue, but doesn't feel integral to the rest of the book. I wish there had been more build up within the novel to get to the resolution. I appreciate the authors intent in giving the readers a new entry to the storyline, and at the same time giving closure. It reads as a typical Witch Central book up to the epilogue, which is a very touching wrap up to the series. Unfortunately, this book isn't the best ending. The author has been very clear that changes in her life led her to choose to end this series.
